The Six Samurai - Kamon
Group: Warrior/Effect
Type: Fire
Level: 3
Atk: 1500
Def: 1000
Once per turn, while you control another "Six Samurai" monster with a different name, you can destroy 1 face-up Spell or Trap Card. This monster cannot declare an attack during the turn this effect is used. If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy another "Six Samurai" monster you control instead.

Rulings:
[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] These rulings apply for all "The Six Samurai" monsters and "Great Shogun Shien".

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] The effect "If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy a(nother) "Six Samurai" monster you control instead." is a Continuous Effect. You can apply this effect while resolving an effect that would destroy the monster.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] This effect does not target.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] This effect can be used during the Damage Step. If you destroy a "Six Samurai" to save another "Six Samurai" that would have been destroyed by battle, you do so during damage calculation. The "Six Samurai" that you destroyed instead is sent to the Graveyard at the same time that monsters destroyed by battle are sent to the Graveyard.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] You cannot destroy a face-down "Six Samurai" monster instead.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] You cannot destroy a "Six Samurai" monster to save more than one other "Six Samurai" monster at the same time. Example: You control "Yariza" in Defense Position and "Nisashi" and "Irou" in Attack Position. "Mirror Force" is activated when you attack with "Nisashi". You can destroy "Yariza" to save "Nisashi", or destroy "Yariza" to save "Irou". You cannot destroy "Yariza" to save both "Nisashi" and "Irou" at the same time.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] A "Six Samurai" monster that is in the process of being destroyed cannot be destroyed to save another "Six Samurai" monster. For example, if you control "Yariza", "Nisashi", and "Irou" all in Attack Position, and your opponent activates "Mirror Force", you cannot destroy any of those 3 instead of another.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] You can use the effect of "Six Samurai" monsters to prevent them from being destroyed by the effects of "Call of the Haunted" or "Premature Burial". So if a "Six Samurai" (or "Great Shogun Shien") is targeted by "Call of the Haunted", and "Call of the Haunted" is destroyed, you can destroy a different "Six Samurai" monster instead of the one that was targeted by "Call of the Haunted".

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] If "Ring of Destruction" targets a "Six Samurai" monster, and you destroy a different "Six Samurai" monster instead, zero damage will be inflicted by "Ring of Destruction".

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] A "Six Samurai" monster destroyed by this effect is considered to be destroyed by the effect, no matter how the other "Six Samurai" monster would have been destroyed.

[Group: THE SIX SAMURAI MONSTERS] If you control 2 "Six Samurai" monsters, and 1 of them equipped with "Legendary Ebon Steed" would be destroyed, the effect of "Legendary Ebon Steed" must be used. You cannot choose to destroy another "Six Samurai" monster instead.

The first effect of "Kamon" targets the card to be destroyed.

If all other "Six Samurai" monsters you controlled were destroyed by an effect chained to "Kamon's" effect, "Kamon's" effect will not resolve.

If "Kamon" declares an attack, then is flipped face-down, then flipped face-up, you cannot use its effect that same turn because it already attacked.

If "Kamon's" effect is used, then "Skill Drain" is activated later, "Kamon" still cannot declare an attack that turn.

Please see "The Six Samurai - Irou" for additional rulings.

This week XC's YGO CotD will be returning to our coverage of the latest set and one of the best sets to reach America since IOC, Strike of Neos! We'll be finishing our coverage of the new archtype of the set, the powerful and popular Six Samurai! Last time we covered some of the biggest stars of this squadron's elite warriors, but this time we'll be looking at the smaller contributors to the theme as well as their leader, the greatest samurai of them all! There's some great cards in store this week, so be sure to tune in and see what gets chosen and please take the time to post what you think!

Yea I have a feeling this would work very well with the Traps from recent sets that use the Elemenents of monsters...

Kamon owns stall/burn for free. If you run stall/burn I would quite seriously suggest you dedicate a siginficant portion of your side deck to killing and/or countering Kamon.

This is a great tech card, especially since Swords is starting to regain some popularity.

I wouldn't main deck this thing. He has a nice effect, but he is side-deck material. The reason is, many decks don't run alot of cards that stay face up on the field. However, this could be a brutal side-deck card against Stumbling, Stall/burn, and other various decktypes.

5/10 Greatly playable against stall, in a Samurai deck ofcoarse

Against any deck that stops your attacks with face-up cards such as Swords of Revealing Light, Level Limit Area B, Gravity Bind etc, this card could easily replace Yaichi. Stopping stall in a swarm deck like the Six Samurai is especially imprtant in a format with 2 less cards for s/t removal than the last.

This is the worst of the six samurais, because no one play continous cards(face up) (exept for swords, but it isnt a continous card), so I prefer this samurai in a side deck to use it when battle vs a gravity bind, level limit deck.

This guy dont look like a samurai

TRAD ?/10 WHO CARES???

ADV 1/10 not a staple SAMURAI DECK 3/10 very situational SAMURAI DECK SIDE DECK 8.5/10 much better here

ART 6/10 this, the water one and the earth guy dont look like samurais

great. kills of the gravity, swords, limit levels, and all those other continuous cards that certain noncreative "duelists" don't use. anyway, I lilke him cause having him and other one that destroys f/d s/ts is like saying, "you'll have no s/ts by the time i'm done" without using heavy storm.

3/5 cause people aren't cool enough for continuous s/ts.
